Welcome back to the Action Cookbook Newsletter’s Fifty States Project.
Way back in March—remember March? It was several years ago?—I launched a tongue-in-cheek appropriation of indie folk singer Sufjan Stevens’ much-publicized-but-never-actually-really “Fifty States Project”, wherein he purportedly planned to record a concept album for each of the fifty US states, something he actually only did for Michigan and Illinois. He’s since confessed that the talk of doing 48 more was always a publicity stunt, but either way, it made an impression on me, as someone who loves announcing ambitious projects and not following through on them.
I started off my version of the project with a Michigan-themed newsletter headed up by a very good recipe for a Wolverine State classic, Almond Boneless Chicken.
