You know, there’s something I forgot during the Long Boring Times of 2020:
Doing things is exhausting.
I don’t know about you, but as summer rolls into fall, I’ve found myself busier than ever—or at least that’s how it feels after such a long layoff. The kids are back in school (except, of course, when they’re not), my day job is slammed, and weekends are filling up with kids’ birthday parties, football, concerts, and all manner of other long-overdue sojourns back out into the world.
Sometimes the only time to catch your breath is a nice weekend brunch. So, that’s exactly what I’ve got planned today. Call it a bye week; we’re icing our sore muscles, taping up our joints, studying a little game film and gearing back up for the next big push. Bye weeks are over before you know it, so let’s make the most of it.
And let’s start in the Queen City.
