You’re only as old as you feel, right?
I turn 40 next weekend, and though I think I’m doing a reasonably good job avoiding a full-fledged mid-life crisis, I’d be lying to you if I said I didn’t feel that round number looming over my head a bit.
I’m not a kid anymore, and I don’t think I’ll ever be a kid again.
But that doesn’t mean I can’t still act like one from time to time!
I’ve gone on the record before as saying that I think the popular concept of a “Yes Day”—that is, a day where parents indulge their kids’ every request—is an absolutely terrible idea. I love my kids, but kids tend to have terrible ideas, and I don’t want them getting used to the sound of me agreeing with them.
THAT SAID.
It is also super fun to indulge them on your own terms.
