There's only one thing left to do
The Friday Newsletter is a bit preoccupied this week.
I always try to have a semblance of a theme for these Friday emails—if not an overt structure, at least something to tie things together.
I can’t quite manage that today. You see, I’m a bit preoccupied.
As you likely know from my occasional (ed: incessant) mention of it in these pages, I’m a huge fan of the Cincinnati Bearcats. Tomorrow afternoon, my team will play the Houston Cougars for a conference title, an undefeated season, and a very good chance at becoming the first non-power team to make the College Football Playoff or any of its predecessor games.
I’ve had a lot to do this week—my day job, my responsibilities as a parent, and trying my damnedest to wear out a hyperactive big dog—but my internal monologue has been all Bearcats, all the time. Do you remember the classic episode of The Simpsons1, “Homie The Clown”, where Homer becomes preoccupied with attending clown college, and sees his entire family as clowns?
