Hello, friends! Happy Monday.

Last week, I put out a solicitation for questions you might have for the first-ever Action Cookbook Newsletter mailbag. I got a bunch of great questions! So many so, in fact, that I definitely won’t get to them all here today, and I plan on publishing Part 2 soon.

Let’s not dally here—let’s get straight to the questions!

What are some areas of the country you haven’t been to yet, but want to based on the local cuisine?

This is a fantastic question. I am reasonably well-traveled within the United States; per my latest count, I’ve been to 39 states plus the District of Columbia. (I count if I’ve physically set foot on ground in the state; airport layovers do not count, and driving through doesn’t count unless I stop.)

I certainly have my favorites—I’m going back to New York City for the first time in a few years later this week, and I’m dying to hit a halal cart and get a proper bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, and I still dream about the fish tacos I had…
