"Daddy, I feel safe"

How far did you make it without crying because I'm not sure I would have gotten as far as the door

I am not currently a parent/will not become one in the near term, but every time you write one of these reflections on parenting, it hits just right. So impressed how you consistently bridge that parent-to-non-parent gap.

What a responsibility to not only be in charge of someone's literal, material safety, but also for helping them feel safe enough to thrive. What a magical ability to do that for someone and then share it so beautifully. Thanks.

When I read “Daddy, I feel safe,” my therapist heart just exploded and I’m still crying. ❤️ This is beautiful; thank you.
