I sadly haven't been able to be as active in the comments this year as I would like but your newsletter is one of the highlights of my week. Thank you for letting us into your life. I will be first in line for the book tour whenever it is.
You *think* you want to sign up for the book tour, but when you find out the reception is a deep-fried football filled with Cincinnati chili and some goddamn bourbon cocktail with a hibiscus floating on top, you may rethink that.
This is exciting news! I've always imagined if you'd write a book it would be similar to a Phaidon cookbook with your stories/parental experiences intermixed with the recipes. Can we start the preorder list now?
Whatever form you write it in, I'll read it! I appreciate the silly and the food and sports a lot, but the ones where you share your own life are always my favs, even if they often make me cry. Merry Holidays to you and your family!
I am happy to read anything that you write, book or newsletter. I say that as a vegetarian who hasn't had a cocktail in 50 years, and who knows and cares squat about college football. I enjoy your newsletters, but I would rather get fewer each week than have you burn out and produce zero. Also, put me on the book preorder list.
I’ve been hoping that you’re writing a book! You rock this newsletter with a wild and wide variety of topics. I can’t wait to read what that fertile mind of yours produces in book form. As for your newsletter not being about one thing, it’s actually inspiring. I also have so many things I want to write about, which goes against the grain of most advice concerning writing on Substack. By the way, I would never have found you via Twitter because I ignore it and still ignore X. So don’t give up hope. Merry Christmas and a very Happy Year to you, your family, and Olaf!
Scott your pieces have somehow come at unbelievably timely moments. We had quite a year.5 with health scares for my new daughter simultaneously with my wife and then me a few months later. Your writing about parenting and the memories it creates manage to land right at the time I needed them. To the point that I think you may have a voodoo doll of this unknown subscriber...
Thank you for what you share and I am excited to continue to read more.
No, thank you Scott for creating this cozy corner of happy musings we all need. I have loved every single thing you’ve written and so look forward to what lies ahead. Count me in on any and all future projects. My very best wishes to you and your family for this coming holiday and new year.
Thank you for sharing yourself with us. I appreciate everything you put into the newsletter and how much you care about what you put out there. I've been so happy to get to know more about you through ACBN. You're a treasure, Scott. Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family.
This is just perfect, Scott. I've so enjoyed your writing this year, especially the fiction. I need to read your latest short story, though -- it's on my list for this/next week! Have a great one, my friend and an amazing new year.
That's so cool, I'm so happy for you. Coming from someone who writes hundreds of thousands of words a year with nowhere to put them, the last 4 years of this newsletter have been a joy to read and an inspiration -- that maybe some of my half-assed hair-brained ideas could turn into something people like (even if I have to scrap a few because "nope, Cookbook wrote that already.") I forgive you and I look forward to whatever tumbles out next. Godspeed and get weird!

I think we know what we signed up for here

Love the book idea. Is your book going to have a corgi protagonist or a corgtagonist (if I may)
no, that is a surprisingly-well-saturated market already
That’s the wildest thing I’ve heard! Who knew??
Merry Christmas Scott. Thanks for another wonderful year of writing, and I support whatever you choose to do with the ACBN because it is all good
Merry Christmas to you and your family Scott. I enjoy your writing and the comments section very much.
Merry Christmas to you as well!

Haven’t read it yet, but one suggestion: The Action Cookbook Lookbook Backbook
also, this was very well written, and i’m always available to bounce ideas off (not that you need help!)
Thank you, I appreciate that! (And I might!)
Thank you for bringing joy to Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings. It is sincerely appreciated. Can’t wait to get my hands on the new book!
I hope you and the family have a wonderful holiday season!

Thank you, my friend! I hope you have a wonderful time over the holidays and a happy new year.
Finally! We are getting the conclusion to The Red Zone!
