I finally had a chance to sit and read this. The one thing I found on my social media, and I include myself in this mix, is how many people watched this show as appointment viewing with a parent or grandparent. The generations may not agree on much, but they can agree on Alex Trebek. I got an email this morning that Answers in the Form of Questions was delivered to my Kindle. I was laboring over what to read next to avoid the news. Feels like kismet.

My Jeopardy! story:

My sophomore year of college, I got invited to take the test in person (pre-online test days) up at Navy Pier in Chicago. It was the same day that I was supposed to have a Chemical Engineering exam. I asked the professor to make up the test or take it early, and instead he moved the exam, told the class I was the reason, and told them to wish me luck. So I drove up to Chicago & took the test, but it wasn’t enough to make it further.

I slept through the exam two days later.

I put this off until I could sit down in a calm moment and enjoy it, and I’m glad I did so. Thank you.

I read his memoir earlier this year and highly recommend for anyone intrigued by Trebek — there was so much about his pre-Jeopardy life I didn't know. Also, he cusses a lot.
