Of all the articles and speeches I've read since the attack last week, this one might be the best. Somehow you managed to put everything I was thinking into one piece. Well done and well-said. Thank you Scott.
Seemingly every day I find myself fighting in my head about whether our country has a real and legitimate future that is brighter and some days I'm overcome with a sense of dread that this will all be neatly tucked away as another slip-up and the veil of patriotism will be draped over all of the longstanding issues we have to deal with to ever get where I want us to be.
I guess what I'm saying is I'm glad I got to read this today.
People have labeled everything they don't like as "fake news" and are now suffering for it. They have forced themselves to live in an alternate reality OR admit they were wrong about something.
And we all now how American's love to admit they were wrong about something...Hell, my wife hasn't been wrong since we got married!

J.R.R. Tolkein: "Deep roots are not touched by the frost." We'll be OK.
Great post, and very well-said.

It is far easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.
now = know, ugh... sorry.
