I see him out fishing all the time. I've never spoken with him, but I'll always owe him for rescuing me out of the creek on the edge of his property. It's a lot deeper than it looks, and the water was much more black than you'd think. I can't recall if I slipped, or something grabbed, but I do recall seeing a fast white blur out of the corner of my eye. The current was pulling me under for what seemed like ages, and I began to have visions of lost loved ones, although they were in a different form. After what seemed like ages I felt a sharp prick in my hand, and next thing I knew I was on shore and the old man was removing a hook from my hand. He walked away while I caught my breath so I haven't been able to thank him. I figure a Christmas gift is the least I could do!
My wife and I got the Ooni pizza oven, and the extra high temperatures definitely improve the home pizza results over using a regular oven. Worth buying for you or your Other.

So, I put that one in the post because it's the one I use. I can't compare it to other similar products, but I've had good luck with it.
Pros: it makes really nice ice cubes
Cons: it takes up a lot of freezer space, and the insulation for the tub might not hold up over time (it's a dense foam, but one similar to packing material)
I usually make a batch all at once, then remove the cubes and put them in individual ziploc bags for use later, because it's definitely not something I have the freezer space for it to just be in there constantly
I'm sure he'd love to have a furry friend in the house that didn't hate every aspect of his existence. Not saying you need another dog, but I'm not not saying that.
I really wish Holly would get on board. I get that she's old and having a young dog much larger than her is an adjustment, but she's such an asshole about it.
Hard to compare, partly because she was considerably younger and less cranky then, but also because the kids--while a huge disturbance to her sense of peace--weren't really playing on the same field as her, compared to a dog who's at her level and wants to play/eat her food/etc.
Reminds me of old episodes of the Dog Whisperer where calm dogs would "correct" a dog that was a bundle of nervous energy or that wasn't acting right. I wonder if she is trying to "correct" him and assert her dominance but he's just too out there for it to take and her tolerance for nonsense has pretty much disappeared with age. Sorry you have to go through that.
